How to afford organic baby and children’s clothes

Most new mums begin their journey with an overwhelming sense of care and responsibility for the well-being of their new baby. As a result, we want to provide the best possible start for them. For some, bringing up kids in an environment that’s centred around an organic lifestyle is the way to achieve this. After all, this means no nasty chemicals in their clothes or food. However, this choice does cost a little more. So, how do you find affordable organic baby clothes and food in order to pursue a healthier lifestyle?

Why are Organic clothes more expensive?

You can expect to pay a little more for organic clothes. There are a few very good reasons for this. Firstly, organic fabrics, such as organic cotton, is more costly to produce. This is because the methods used in organic farming are less intensive and far more kind to the environment. Also, the workers receive a fair wage and better working conditions. Ultimately, this ethical approach means toxin-free clothing that’s kinder to your baby’s skin. Secondly, some more good news is that organic garments are of better quality. They are more durable, easy to wash, and more stain-resistant. Thirdly, the market for organic clothes is smaller (but growing!) Lastly, there can be a premium added because ‘organic’ can be seen as trendy.

When I first started buying organic baby clothes, I’d scour the internet for bargains. Sometimes this worked out, sometimes it didn’t. I used to find plenty of second-hand bargains on eBay. That’s the thing about organic baby clothes. They are made to last and so it’s easy to pick clothes that have become too small but they’re still in great condition. Also, try another great website, that specializes in selling second hand ethical affordable organic baby clothes –

Newsletters and social media let you know when the bargains are available. It’s a great way to stay informed and to slowly build your organic kid’s clothes collection. And remember, because they are made to last, you should be able to sell them on for a reasonable price once your baby has outgrown them.
My personal experience with loud+proud and many of the other brands such as; DUNS, Ubang and Leela Cotton has been outstanding.
